New Residential Contracts Secured Give Grounds for Optimism

Corlin are delighted to be working with the Mc Ginnis Group on 2 new developments at Millmount, Dundonald and at Bracken Hill, Carryduff.
Working on such projects gives everyone a lift and real hope that economic recovery isn’t too far away. As a very valued client of Corlin we are glad to be involved in these 2 projects and we wish the Mc Ginnis Group continued success with them.
Christmas Shop has successful opening
20 Nov 2009Thursday 19th November marked the annual opening of the Mc Laughlin Decor Christmas Shop. Once again the day proved to be a success with a steady supply of festive shoppers coming through the day right through to the close at 9pm. All at Corlin would like to thank all our valued customers from the Castlederg area and further afield for showing their support. We hope they were impressed with this years range and that they enjoyed the light refreshments available.
With an updated range of everything Christmas to brighten up your home we aim to offer quality and value in these challenging times and the Shop along with the main Decor Centre will remain open right up to Christmas Eve.

Completion of Leinster House Works
30 Oct 2009Both of the projects we were working on at Leinster House in Dublin have been completed now. Corlin are very grateful to the OPW and BAM Builders for awarding us the Fire Remedial contracts and we are delighted that the contracts were completed successfully.
Being the seat of Government in the Republic of Ireland this is another very prestigious project that we have worked on and we are delighted to have been associated with it and we vey much hope to continue our working relationship with both clients.

A rural painting firm has diversified in a bid to beat the downturn that is crippling other firms reliant on the construction industry.
Corlin Developments is now specialising in heritage conservation painting, as well as fire protection, and is advertising for staff at a time when lay-offs are widespread in the industry.
Based in the border town of Castlederg, Co Tyrone, the company has increased its turnover by stg£500,000 (€562,000) in the past year.
‘‘We are able to survive by focusing and specialising,” said director Eugene McLaughlin. ‘‘We have a special niche, and that’s what carries us through. We also invest in training, and that’s carrying us through as well,” he said.
‘‘We do our own training in house, and all our workers are direct employees. They are there years and years. A few of them are there as long as myself; they are people that grew up with the firm.”
McLaughlin said the company’s fire protection work complemented its heritage conservation painting. Corlin is currently working on fire protection in Leinster House.
Earlier this year, Corlin finished work on restoring the interior of Headfort House, Co Meath. McLaughlin said the Headfort House contract required a degree of detailed work that ‘‘had to be seen to be believed’’.
Headfort House contains the only complete interior in Ireland by 18th century Scottish architect Robert Adam.
The company is now working on the 18th century St Patrick’s Church in Slane, Co Meath, and the listed Huntly House in Belfast.
Corlin was founded in 2003, replacing Roulson McLaughlin, which had been in business since the early 1970s.
McLaughlin said that Roulson McLaughlin , had ‘‘dabbled’’ in heritage conservation painting, completed some work for the North’s National Trust and worked on the Parliament Buildings at Stormont.
In July, Corlin won the award as Johnstone’s Painter of the Year for its work on the restoration of the interior of Belfast City Hall.
To win the award, Corlin saw off more than 100 other entrants. It was the first time in 25 years the award had gone to an Irish firm. ‘‘I never thought it would come a cross ,” McLaughlin said.
Corlin Go Into Government
1 Aug 2009We have secured Fire Remedial Contracts at Leinster House in Dublin, the seat of government in the Republic of Ireland. One is with BAM Building Contractors in Co. Kildare and the other is directly for the OPW. This is another important step into the Heritage/Conservation market which Corlin have successfully been involved with in the past 2 years. it is a prestigious and challenging project that we are excited to be involved with.
Another Farrans Contract Secured
28 Jul 2009Hot on the heels of the contract we secured at Craigavon Hospital we have also been successful in securing another contract with Farrans at their latest project in Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry. We look forward to working with them on this project and hope it strengthens the relationship thats starting between both companies.
New Contracts Secured
30 Jun 2009Corlin are pleased to confirm that they have secured 2 new Painting & Decorating contracts.
Our established relationship with Mc Cann Bros. Fintona at the new Lough Erne resort in Enniskillen will continue with the latest project – the Golf ClubHouse. This will be another high quality project at Lough Erne to accompany the Hotel and the superb new golf course which opens in 2009.
We are also about to start work at the Craigavon Hospital for Farrans. This is another site where Corlin have done a lot of work over the past few years. Farrans are ofcourse one of the main Contractors in Northern Ireland. This will be the first main project we have worked with Farrans on and we hope it marks the start of a lasting working relationship with them.
Corlin Wins Prestigious Industry Award
10 Jun 2009At the recent Johnstones Paints Awards Night in Chester, England Corlin picked up the presigious Peoples Choice Painter of the Year award for its work at the Belfast City Hall. The company is delighted to have won this as it was voted on by our peers in the Painting & Decorating industry. It is also a very satisfying reflection of the quality of the work in such a prestigious building and a great compliment to our Foreman John Mc Crory and all his on site team.
Completion of Headfort Painting Works
22 May 2009The Painting and Decoration of the Eating Parlour at Headfort House, Kells, County Meath has been one of the most prestigious, challenging and ultimatley rewarding projects that Corlin have been involved with. these works have now been completed. Working very closely with the Headfort Trust, Consarc, VB Evans and Richard Ireland the project was brought to a very successful conclusion.
Richard Ireland carried out the extensive research for such a detailed restoration of this beautiful room in line with the original 18th Century Plans and he was the Curator overseeing the quality of the Painting works. Our Foreman Liam Doherty and Richard worked very well together and we are delighted that the very high demands for quality workmanship were met and we thank Richard for all his guidance and assistance.

Corlin stepped up to the momentous challenge of reinstating the scheme working closely under the guidance of Richard Ireland who had undertaken the research. Painting Contract Secured at Corrib Gas Field Site
11 May 2009Corlin have been awarded the Painting & Decorating contract for the Administration Buildings at the Corrib Gas Headquarters site in County Mayo. This is another prestigious Irish project and Corlin are looking forward to re-establishing raltions with the Sligo Contractor Kilcawley Construction.
